Welcome to the March Edition of the Crypto Altruists Newsletter!

šŸ‘‹ Hello, Crypto Altruists!

Last month was a busy one—political debates around crypto heated up, memecoins dominated headlines, and ETHDenver sparked key discussions about the future of Web3. But beyond the noise, we’re focused on what really matters: the projects and people using crypto to drive real-world change.

From funding experiments to blockchain-powered humanitarian aid, here’s what’s shaping the space. šŸ‘‡

March is Women’s History Month, and we’re using it as a chance to grow the Crypto Altruists Podcast—while giving back at the same time. For every podcast review left this month, we’ll donate $5 to support women’s education and opportunity, benefiting two remarkable organizations via Endaoment.

About the organizations:

She’s the First works with local partners to make sure girls around the world get access to education, mentorship, and leadership training. šŸ“–

Women for Women International supports women in conflict-affected areas with financial literacy, vocational training, and community support, helping them rebuild their lives. šŸ™Œ

🌟 Project Highlight: Endaoment

Each month, we highlight projects using Web3 to drive meaningful change. This March, we’re focusing on Endaoment—a decentralized nonprofit redefining charitable giving.

Since 2020, Endaoment has been a leader in crypto philanthropy, helping onboard thousands of nonprofits to Web3. Recently, they hit a huge milestone, reaching $100 million in onchain donations through their platform, making it one of the largest Web3 philanthropy platforms. In 2024 alone, they processed $10.2 million in donations and $12.2 million in grants, with an impressive 119.6% payout rate—meaning more funds were distributed to nonprofits than were newly donated.

Check out Endaoment's 2024 Impact Report for a full look at their progress, key milestones, and what’s ahead.

One of their biggest moves last year was integrating with Plaid, bringing Endaoment’s donor-advised funds (DAFs) into thousands of personal finance apps, making it easier for traditional investors to engage with onchain giving.

Endaoment has also been an important partner to Crypto Altruists, championing transparent, efficient philanthropy onchain. They were a key partner in The Web3 Nonprofit podcast series, and joined us way back for Episode 79 of the podcast to discuss blockchain’s role in the future of giving, decentralized governance, and how Web3 is shaping philanthropy in the next decade.
